Sacral Chakra - Flow & Release

As we move through our physical practice we are given the opportunity to recognize the ways in which we flow through movement.

Transitions between each position are as powerful, important, and impactful as the asanas themselves.

As we move from the more grounded, stable, and structured Earth energy of the Root Chakra - we begin to explore the uncontainable water energy of the Sacral Chakra.

Think about what happens when you try to hold water in your hands. Any space available for it to move through, it will find and release itself.

Think about the efforts man makes to change or limit the flow of water, and think of the pressure placed on a structure like a dam.

The energy of our emotional body works in the same way. By moving and flowing, and allowing ourselves to explore and release the boundaries we’ve placed on ourselves, we come to recognize the temporary and free- flowing nature of our feelings and emotions.

Deep, long held stretches provide a unique opportunity to tune into where we create and hold resistance in both our bodies and our minds.

To explore this energy, answer the following prompt - What emotional experiences or feelings are you resisting letting go of?
